FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).
The article claims that, “infants born to teenage mothers are at greater risk for developmental problems” and therefore should take into consideration when in or thinking of becoming sexually active.
As well as the infants, the teenage mothers themselves are, “at a much higher risk of having serious medical complications”.
Becoming sexually active can start as early as the age from 12 to 14, and in this stage, these teens are more than likely, “talked into having sex”, rather than by choice.
If already sexually active, the article suggests that a soon to be teenage mother should speak to their health care provider regarding, “birth control methods, sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) and pregnancy risk”.
The article informs that a teenager who becomes pregnant has a higher probability to “live in poverty” than a woman who waits until about after the age of 20.

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

This article gives a great source of information regarding a teenage girl’s pregnancy before, during and after. Many of the information given served as a warning to teenage girls who are or may be at risk to becoming pregnant. Some of these which included consequence of the baby after birth and health problem the baby and the mother both may encounter. The article also urges a teenage girl to visit a health care provider to speak with them about topics such as STD’s and birth control methods.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

PubMed Health is the main provider for the information on this site. The purpose of it is to bring news to teens and make them aware of the consequences of teenage pregnancy regarding the baby and the mother themselves.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

Other than serving as important information for sexually active teens or teens who may become sexually active, it does not look to serve any purpose behind it.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

I detect a slight bias, but also mainly truth to this page because it does not list any upsides and pros to a teen becoming pregnant and if decided, a parent.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The site does cite references and it helps give it credibility in the way that there are other sources that give the same correct information.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I plan to use this source to prove that teenagers in fact aren’t aware of the real consequences and emotional problems teenage pregnancy brings.
