I Believe...

1. I believe teen pregnancy is glamorized and hollywood downplays the severity of it.
2. I believe bullying has become an even bigger issue for students of all ages, (including high school).
3. I believe that animal cruelty is an issue that has always been avoided.
4. I believe child obesity is an issue that could be avoided beginning at a young age and parents are in some part to blame of it.
5. I believe students especially of high school age pay too much attention to social norms.

1. Coming from a family that has experienced teen pregnancy, I have witnessed the hardships and sacrifices it takes. I also feel that many teenagers are not getting the full experience and responsibilities it takes to care for a child because family members are helping them a lot more than they should. Along with one's personal life, Hollywood doesn't show the true sides of caring for a child. Examples of this are "Teen Mom" and "16 and Pregnant". Among my peers I've heard conversations where at times girls think it would be "cute" to have a baby and take care of it. Truth be told they don't understand that it isn't nothing but changing diapers and making them giggle, but being able to provide for them and spend an endless amount of nights with only 3 hours of sleep. Along with this, having a child at such a young age doesn't gauruntee that the guy who got you pregnant will stick around or that you have a good chance of pursuing a dream/career.
