Because of the idea that “society does not support teenage pregnancy”, teen parents aren’t given the resources they need to carry a successful life for them and for their children (Krueger, 85). |
According to Stephan Dunay, a writer for Sex, Etc., if you ask any young person they would say that they, “wish that their parents were more deeply involved in their lives” (Krueger, 69). |
Because teens have so much access to technology and the media, things such as television display sexual content, “increasing the likelihood of teen pregnancy” (Krueger, 64). |
Not only does television display the sexual content to teens but it doesn’t or rarely, “highlights the negative aspects of sex or the risks and responsibilities” (Krueger, 65). |
The negatives and hardships of teenage pregnancy according to teen moms can be reduced community support and, “ takes a lot of weight off their shoulders” (Krueger, 123). |
Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):
Teenage Pregnancy and Parenting is a book that includes a range from what factors contribute to teen pregnancy to how teen parents are not given enough credit. Community support is helpful but awareness and consequences at school and home are not emphasized.
